About Fireboy and Watergirl
Fireboy and Watergirl is the co-op puzzle platformer that has been in school browsers for well over a decade. Fireboy walks through lava and dies in water; Watergirl is the opposite; and every level is built so neither can finish alone. Levers, buttons and platforms all need two pairs of hands.
The series runs to several temples, each adding a mechanic — light beams, ice, wind. The first temple is a gentle tutorial; by the fourth, levels are genuine coordination puzzles that reward talking to each other.

Tips for a better score
- Green pools kill both characters — treat them as walls, not hazards to time.
- Whoever reaches a lever first should hold it while the other moves; taking turns wastes the level timer.
- Diamonds are optional but the three-star rating needs all of them plus a fast finish.
- If a jump looks impossible, one character is probably meant to stand on a button you have not spotted.
Fireboy and Watergirl FAQ
- Can one person play Fireboy and Watergirl alone?
- Yes — one hand on the arrow keys and one on WASD. It is harder but entirely doable, and most levels are designed to allow it.
- How many Fireboy and Watergirl games are there?
- Several main entries, each set in a different temple with its own mechanic, plus spin-offs.
- Which temple should I start with?
- The Forest Temple. It introduces the core rules before the later games start layering mechanics on top.
