About PolyTrack

PolyTrack is a time-trial racer stripped to its essentials: a clean low-poly car, a set of loops and jumps, and a clock. There is no traffic and no opponents — you race your own ghost, and shaving two tenths off a corner is the entire point. Restarts are instant, which turns each track into a puzzle you solve by repetition.

The track editor is what separates it from the rest of the genre. You can build your own circuit out of the same pieces the official tracks use and share it, which means the pool of levels keeps growing well past what shipped with the game.

Tips for a better score

  • Lift off the throttle before the corner, not in it — the car rotates on the release.
  • Race the ghost, not the clock. Watching where it pulls ahead tells you exactly which corner is costing you.
  • Jumps are faster taken slightly off-centre; landing straight matters more than landing far.
  • Build a test track in the editor to practise one corner type over and over.

PolyTrack FAQ

Can you make your own tracks in PolyTrack?
Yes. The editor uses the same road, loop and jump pieces as the built-in tracks, and finished circuits can be shared as a code.
Are the ghosts other players?
The ghost you race by default is your own best run on that track, which is why the game gets harder as you get better at it.
Does PolyTrack need a fast computer?
No — the low-poly art style exists partly so it holds a steady frame rate on school Chromebooks and older laptops.
