About Retro Bowl

Retro Bowl splits its time between a front office and the field. Between games you handle the roster, the salary cap, morale, facilities and the draft; during games you only play offence, dragging a pass to a receiver and running for the rest. That division is why a season goes quickly without feeling shallow.

The passing model is the heart of it. You drag from the quarterback to place the ball rather than picking a target, so leading a receiver into space is a skill you genuinely develop. Defenders react to the throw, meaning a well-placed ball beats a well-covered route.

Tips for a better score

  • Throw to where the receiver will be, not where he is — the arc takes time to land.
  • Keep morale high; a happy roster outperforms a more talented unhappy one.
  • Spend early coaching credits on the offensive line. Pressure ruins every other plan.
  • On defence you can only pick a strategy, so build the roster to cover your weak side.

Retro Bowl FAQ

Do you play defence in Retro Bowl?
No. Defence is simulated based on your roster and the strategy you pick, which makes drafting defensive talent matter even though you never control it.
How do you win the Retro Bowl?
Finish the regular season strong enough to make the playoffs, then win through. Consistent offensive drives and a healthy roster matter more than any single star.
Does the browser version save my franchise?
Progress is stored in your browser's local storage, so it persists between sessions on the same machine and browser.
